Nelly Furtado - I'm Like A Bird
May, Again on Vimeo

New video!!

I’m a solitary person.

No shame in that. Lots of people pass by my

car window.

It’s not hard to let go.

Practice makes perfect.

I know what I am. A creature

stalking the nights on my own

God loves me better by myself. I know myself

I know how the leaves

drift

on tree branches, the dance of it all.

It’s better when I’m alone, it’s all better

No one getting between me and Him

Me, all alone, the echoes of music pulsating me

keeping me company

on my escapades.

Me, no one else,

no one knows me,

no one loves me

me me me me me

The House reflecting Ripples, Tsukubamirai, Japan by Kichi Architectural Design | via

The river banks to which the site of the house overlooks is among the prominent spots of Ibargi Prefecture, renowned for their cherry blossoms. In designing the house, I attached great importance to its relationship with the cherry blossoms.

The facade which consists of three white outer walls, is suggestive of triple ripples on the surface of the river. It is a house that enables its residents to live closely with the cherry trees which manifest all kinds of expressions with the changing of the seasons in Japan.

Based on the shape of the site, one that stretches in a narrow strip toward the cherry trees, I I conceived the shape of the house , a U-shaped one, so that every one of its rooms would fully benefit from the light.

Realistic Paintings Of Greenland Made By Zaria Forman | via

Forget about Mona Lisa the 2D painting, Zaria Forman, a New York based artist, created these amazing 3D paintings by using waves of thick paint for the creation of water and icebergs. These paintings are based on Greenlands icebergs and mountains and she made them for her late mother.

In the first image you see Zaria working on creating the icebergs on a half finished canvas.

Casa Nº1 en Curacavi, Chile by Felipe Combeau + Pablo Alfaro | via

The first step was to take a strategic position of the site and set up a landmark that could dominate the hilly and shrubby landscape. It is a 14×14 m square that contains the entire program in a single level.

The second step was to create a pass through the square in order to establish a clear way to enter and exit the house and internally separate the public areas from the private ones. This operation allows the box to break and make the outside enough permeable.

The pass operation introduces two additional axis systems to the original square, which guide the internal organization of the program following a centrifugal composition. In this way each room opens to a different space: distant views, sunny terraces, shaded terraces, proximity to native vegetation, outlook to the valley, etc. This centrifuge pattern also allows the wind to flow freely through the house in summer, so under the protection of the concrete slab, inhabitants can survive the intense heat of the season without the need of air conditioning.
